This store has earned the following certifications.
Our natural fertilizers are carefully blended from the best sources of organic nutrients in ideal proportions without the use of synthetics or low-quality fillers like poultry waste. We feature a complete line of natural and organic fertilizers, soil amendments, composts and potting media that work with the microorganisms and organic matter in the soil to feed plants.
Organic Fertilizers are derived from plant, animal or mineral resources, and combined with organic matter. Natural and Organic Fertilizers help strengthen soil health. Chemical fertilizers are known to deplete soil microorganisms and leach into waterways, creating large 'dead zones' where water no longer contains oxygen for marine life.
Organic fertilizers are sold in three forms: dry, water-soluble powder and liquid. Down To Earth Cactus & Succulent is a blended fertilizer specially designed to support the keystone plants commonly found in arid climate gardens and water-wise xeriscapes. This robust blend of natural and organic ingredients will supply succulents of all types, including cactuses and agaves, with the nutritional backbone to keep them growing strong and producing beautiful blooms.
These fascinating specimens are adapted to withstand challenging environmental stresses and utilize diverse tactics to manage water storage efficiently. Improving soil conditions and encouraging their extensive root systems can help maintain fabulous conservation focused gardens filled with striking cactuses and succulents.
For new ground, apply 1½-2½ lbs per 100 square feet and thoroughly mix into the top 3" of soil. For new transplants, apply 1 Tbsp of fertilizer per gallon of soil in the original container. For established specimens, apply ½ cup per 6 inches of diameter and scratch gently into soil. Fertilize cactuses after winter dormancy has ended, early in the active growing period. Fertilize every 4-6 weeks after the first application throughout the growing period, but do not apply fertilizer during the dormant period.
For new container plantings, add ½-1 Tbsp per gallon of soil and mix thoroughly before planting. For established plants, add 1 tsp fertilizer per quart of water and thoroughly drench soil. Repeat application every 4 weeks throughout the active growing period.
